With the growing global emphasis on environmental protection and the sustainable utilization of resources, the recovery technology of food-contact recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) materials has drawn significant attention. The recovery technology, the regulation and the development trends of food-contact recycled PET materials were reviewed. Through a detailed analysis of different recycling methods, the significance of technological advancements in enhancing recycling efficiency and product quality is highlighted. Simultaneously, in combination with regulatory experiences from various countries, suggestions for improving the regulatory system of food-contact recycled PET in China were proposed, with the aim of facilitating the healthy and sustainable development of the food-contact recycled PET industry.
